PEOPLE SAY THAT TEXAS MIGHT AS WELL BE ITS OWN COUNTRY. HERE’S ONE EXCELLENT REASON NOT TO SEVER ALL TIES.
“Just think of me as one of the guys,” says Theresa Welch. Her statement is greeted with skepticism. Look at the evidence. “No, I’m serious,” she insists. “I have some good female friends, but I prefer the company of men. I may have been born in New York, but I grew up near Dallas. Maybe that’s why I prefer to do guy things. You know, jet-ski, hang out at the lake, shoot some pool, have a few beers at a sports bar.”
Theresa resides near Arlington, Texas. “There are a lot of lakes in the area. I have this thing about water,” she says. “I love the way it glitters in the sun. It’s always moving, like it’s alive. I can’t stand to be away from the water.” Despite her lust for adventure, Theresa insists she’s down-to-earth and family oriented. “I have a younger brother and a younger sister, we’re all very close. We laugh like crazy when we’re together. When I told my brother I was going to shoot with Muscle PinUps, he gave me this stricken look and said, ‘My dream of meeting one of those women finally comes true and it turns out to be my sister. Damn!’We care a lot for one another. I think that’s why they respect my need for independence.”
Her favorite fantasy? “Chopper passion,” says the personal trainer. She confessed a penchant for traveling the Pacific Coast Highway on a vintage Harley-Davidson at blink-and-you’ll-miss-her speeds. “I like anything with lots of horsepower,” she reveals. “Motorcycles, Nascar racing, monster trucks – you name it.” Although she’s jazzed by hogs, speedboats and sports cars, the Texas bodybuilder says music also cranks her engine. A drummer, Theresa wants to be a big stage rock and roll star. “I like to do really outrageous things – I jump headfirst instead of feetfirst. I cannot sit still.” Happily, she remained still long enough for this photo shoot.
